The COVID-19 pandemic is truly global, and DR Congo has not escaped. In order to fight the spread of the disease, we have established temporary sanitation stations at ten nursing homes and five orphanages there. These stations include portable sinks with disinfection kits so that the elderly and orphans can properly wash their hands to avoid spreading the virus by contact. They also include face masks, alcohol wipes, and thermometers.
In addition, because so many people’s livelihoods have been affected by the disease, we are also providing aid in the form of food. Even those who are normally able to provide help to nursing homes and orphans have founds themselves in need of assistance because of lost work.
